Jessica Callan is an Irish contemporary visual artist, originally born in Belfast, Co. Antrim. Dublin based until the late nineties, later on Wales based, and lived there for just under twenty five years. Jessica graduated from NCAD in 1994, and works with installation, sculptural objects, digital technologies, and painting.

'Colour, and the absence of it can have a profound effect.

Colour can invite, and it can overwhelm.

In this series of works I played with colour reacting to light, through the application of pure pigment, and by the layering of washes, creating depth.'
